M.R. Press Consulting (MRPC) was founded by Michael R. Press after his 9 years of service on the government side of the incentives negotiating table, followed by 11 years at the partner level in the Big-four. His vantage point, as a former economic developer, allows MRPC to offer clients a unique, "insider's" perspective on how to motivate governmental authorities, and how to appeal to key political constituencies within host communities. For instance, the Economic and Fiscal Impact studies MRPC provides are drafted to be appropriate for use in public hearings and media briefings. They focus nearly exclusively on the direct and indirect job-creation and state and local revenue generation potential of the projects - the aspects with the most appeal to government officials and the public at large in the project's host community. Just as importantly, the big-4 tax and econometrics experience of Michael Press and MRPC professionals, provide the high-level technical competence many leading U.S. companies have relied upon to accurately address the valuation and tax-technical issues that frequently arise in the course of the incentives acquisition process.
